Dos TraceRT

Does anyone know a website that explains how the dos TraceRT command works? Im trying to figure out what the * actually mean and what the 3 different columns represent.

* is a timeout
the three numbers represent three consecutive ping round trip times.

Options:
-d Do not resolve addresses to hostnames.
-h maximum_hops Maximum number of hops to search for target.
-j host-list Loose source route along host-list.
-w timeout Wait timeout milliseconds for each reply."
