Is there a stress test program, like prime95 or seti, that will run in dos? Pure dos, not under windows.

I just need it for a couple of days. My new 1.6a system is at the office and I only have the floppydrive installed. I thought I'd do some stress testing while it was sitting around and doing nothing. I think prime95 has a dos version, but I can't figure out how to set it up.

It can boot up at 2.4ghz, everything else is default or auto.

Bump^

It's running dos off a floppy at 2496mhz now. RAM at 2/2/2/5. Default voltages. Now if only I can stress test it. :) Else I'll have to wait until Friday when I get this computer home.

sorry - dos stress tests is a waste of time.

there is Memtest86, but even that is a waste.
you can run for hours on end in DOS.
get into windows and use some DMA, and crash.

I use the BMEM memory test program from the old DOS BCM Diagnostics package (not for stress testing, but as an initial test of stability).

I can boot into DOS and run the diagnostic very quickly (as compared to booting into Windows etc). It'll almost always flag an error if the cpu or memory settings are too aggressive. I usually just have to back the FSB down 1-2MHz to get Prime95 to run successfully once I've calibrated with BMEM.
