I am entering college this fall and currently have a retail copy of Vista Ultimate 64-bit. I understand the procedure to upgrade and that if I need to reinstall Windows 7 later I can do so by placing the Vista disk in the drive when prompted etc.
The questions I have are:
1) Will the upgrade license be itself capable of being upgraded when the next version of Windows comes out?
i.e. Can I go "Upgrade license of Win7" --> "Upgrade license of Win8"?
2) The college I am enrolled in has an educational agreement with Microsoft which allows EE's (what I'm going for) access to licenses to several Windows products and other Microsoft software. Assuming they let me keep a license of Win7 (Which I believe is the case), will that license be upgradable?
