DOS-games, XP, and you...

I built a nice rig this summer (2100+, WD 80gig SE, audigy, g4 4200, etc), and I have had not a single problem running *anything* on it...up until now.

I've a game, Masters of Magic, and haven't ever been able to run it on any of my past machines.
I've set it to run in windows95 mode, and the program started, but any clicking or typing made the program cut out, back to windows, and partway through the intro video the game stops and goes back to windows.

I would really love to play this game, just for the aesthetic value.
Is there a way to do this, without partitioning my harddrive?

Thanks ahead of time.

Hopefully, someone will be along shortly with an idea for you, but I must say this is one reason why I'm glad I keep a gaming rig with Win98SE on it - no problems with older DOS games, and I've got plenty of 'em like the older versions of Civilization/CivNet, XCom, various Ultimas, StarControl, etc. :)

Bump.
Any ideas?
Like I said, it actually ran, but with minimal sound support and no mouse/keyboard support.

Thanks!

boot dos from a floppy. You have to make sure your partition if fat and not ntfs and you can play dos games all day long. I think there is some utility you get load to that slows down the pc for some of the evenolder dos games. Speaking of that, I am going to play some stunts this afternoon.
