DOS error message with Partition Magic 5.0

Hi, I've installed PP5 with the aim of creating a partition for Windows 2000 proffesional, dual booting with WIN 98SE. So I installed the software, opened it and went through all the hoo-har of creating the logical FAT32 partition, for Windows 2000, and left it at the default partition size...

I was then told to reboot, so that the partition could be created in DOS or something, so I did this - got into DOS and it started creating the partition. The problem is, it only gets to about 3% before coming up with the error message:

Error 2003: file size does not match FAT allocation for file.

Does anyone know what the heck this means? Any help would be very much appreciated, thanks for your time.

Normally a Scandisk will correct this error.

My roommate, i am in college, has used pm 5.0 and 4.x for a while. He used pm 4 and almost never had a problem, but then he tried 5.0 twice and it screwed his stuff up (or he did). He ended up having to reinstall winblows and linux. I have used pm 4 once and it ran flawlessly.

Thanks for the replies - I tried running scandisk, and everything went smoothly after that 🙂 (I'm now running in Win 2000 which seems cool so far).

Thanks again for the suggestions.
