rumor is on a mid-to-late june, perhaps even early july. a few magazines did reviews on it this month, including men's health and popular science, so, should be coming soon.

V710 + Verizon Wireless will be the unbeatable combo of 2H 2004. CDMA service providers totally kick GSM's ass, but the problem has always been a lack of phone options. Most of the newer, cutting-edge features were only to be found on a GSM/GPRS phone, and the biggest Euro brands (Nokia and Sony Ericsson) were pretty much GSM only.

I had Sprint PCS from 1998 until just earlier this year, when I was finally fed up enough to switch to Cingular. While for the most part I don't have any problems with my T616 phone and Cingular service, GSM sucks when you're in a crowded area. I can hardly ever dial out on the first try when I'm downtown, at the beach, or in a mall.

Wow, its going to be expensive, $240 after a $70 rebate

Eh. I paid $350 for my current phone. I really don't mind.

You don't? I am a bit peeved that so much has changed in the last 5 years. Before, half the phones were free and the other really high end ones, you could pay 100-150 for.

Now they want 2 year contracts and you still pay 200-400 for if you want a nice phone. If you want a piece of sh** then you STILL have to pay $50.

I paid $350 w/o a new contract. My last phone was $399 w/o a contract. I guess I don't mind paying for high-end phones.

i like to keep my phone basic and inexpensive. Idiots out there who pay so much for their freakin phone, its like if its their damn life. Its just phone calls people! You wanna chat, go to your desktop and open AIM, you want to check the news and sports, pick up a f'ing newspaper or surf the net. You want to play games, go on your PC and play better looking games there. You wanna take a picture, use your damn digital camera, looks way better anyway, idiots

danny~!

I've got a free upgrade on my account from when I signed with verizon and kept my old phone, this is just what I've been waiting for.

Anyways motorolla's site said the memory slot is SD-compatible, which looks like it will save me from having to buy a transflash module, since I already have a 512 sd card.

/edit I think I misread taht I think the transflash can go in an SD card slot.

the transflash card fits into a sd adapter card for compatibility, the v710 still only supports transflash.

edit: hope* i understood the original quote correctly.

hahah yeah I *just* edited my post when I thougth about that.
the space isn't that big a deal to me I'll probably buy a small transflash card, I use my ipaq 2215 for mp3's and video, and to take pics and video I just use my canon s500 so I won't be using this feature for a LOT of pics or video.

Well the BT works with headsets, speakerphones, and can be used as a modem.

I am picking up a 128MB TM Flash card for it to store mp3s and such. I love new toys:)

it looks skinnier than the other cameras, but slightly longer.

i wish i had waited to purchase, but that phone costs to much for a college kid.
i got my a670 instead.
