I've been doing the wash for a while now. Got it down to a science. Whites, like cotton underwear, towels and socks can be washed in super hot water with bleach and detergent... and they should be. White and light colored permanent press clothes should be washed separately from those, as well as from colored stuff, in warm water.
I've got a
washing machine that can be very aggressive with a high spin speed as fast as 1000-rpm. That can cause wrinkles in the permanent press stuff, so I choose a lower spin speed for those. The dryer is also set to a lower heat and cool down setting for those clothes, as well as a 'wrinkle guard' setting, that keeps spinning the clothes even after they're dry. If I pull the permanent press stuff out, and fold it quickly, there is no ironing needed. I wish my wife could master that!
