My grandmother's favorite artist was Patsy, so I've always like her music since it reminds me of her.

I love Doris and her blonde hair. Patsy got me with her swooning voice on Crazy.

Doris. Sentimental Journey's a great tune, and one of the most memorable, and definitive songs from the 40s :^)

I'll throw down the wild card of Ella Mae Morse - Cow Cow Boogie

He was raised on loco weed. He's what you call a swing half breed... :^)

Voted for Doris. I love her voice, an interesting combination of all sorts of emotions and subtle conflicting under-lying emotions.

Doris Day is older, or at least earlier, than the other two. My father used to play sometimes with Doris Day, before I was born. Every so often somebody tells me there are recordings that he's in, but I've never found any that I'm sure of (they don't usually introduce the pianist in the band - could be anybody). Evidently she was quite a character before she became the "Doris Day" sweet all-american girl she later became.

I remember Patsy and Patti from when i was little, 50's/60's. My parents' music, which means I was busy listening to MY music, and didn't pay any attention to the old folks's stuff. Pity.

Without listening to any of the links in the OP, I was gonna' say Patsy Cline in a shutout landslide.

This was because I'd forgotten (or never much knew) just how good Patti Page was. I was also gonna' ask what the hell was Doris Day even doing in this poll.

But, after listening to all three, I have to give each of them her rightful due. I was actually surprised how good Ms. Day's voice was.

But I've still gotta go with Ms. Patsy Cline. She had one of the most distinctive and evocative female country voices ever, ever, ever.

All three are great, but my vote would be for Patsy, she was a true shining star that burned brightly but burned out too quickly. Not only did she raise the bar for bringing emotion to a performance in a somewhat stale genre, her life story is so heart wrenching and compelling.

I voted Patsy Cline - Walking after Midnight and Crazy are all time classics. What a voice, what confidence.

Doris Day was a good singer, I do like "Sentimental Journey".

But my memory of her is from comedy movies like "Glass Bottom Boat" and "With Six you get Eggroll" from the 60's. There was also a sitcom. She had quite the wholesome family image.
