Door Frame wood wore out

Have a rental property with an antique front door, and the wood framing for the deadbolt is wore away. How can I fix this without drilling a new hole into the door for a new deadbolt?

You can buy a larger strike plate that should do the job. I think home depot sells them.

Or what about reinforcing with steel/angle iron?

Didn't think about the steel angle iron, but I did buy a longer strike and it worked. Had to chisel out a little wood and it fit. It just slightly overlapped the door latch but there was enough room for the door to close and open
