Doomed Far Cry troubles?

First off, great site! Already answered many questions I had!

Now I've got this problem...

I can install Doom 3 and Far Cry but when I attempt to play the computer locks up after a few minutes- this has led to many other problems the worst being a corrupted Sys 32 file.

I run HL2, LOTR, UT 2004 Gold etc no problem. What's the matter here?

(Please dont say get the latest drivers, or the unthinkable solutions posted on the Doom website: reduce color to 16bit, turn off all background etc)

Don't overclock anything and make sure the games are patched to their latest versions.

Try turning off Fast Writes in your bios.

All overclocks turned off. (the only thing I had left to change was memory timings- set these to auto)

I restored all bios defaults and disabled fast-write

Far Cry patch ver 1.3 loaded

This time the computer didn't freeze- I got BSOD!

STOP exception 0x0000009c (0x00000004,0x80545FF0,0xB2000000,0x00070F0F)

Will try googgling the error but am still very open to suggestions.

Googled and am more confused.

Is it my PS? (Award 430w peak)

Memory (listed below)

or BIOS?

and why do all the references on Uncle Bill's support page say, "Your Pentium processor..."

any help would be great
