I have got the itch to play DOOMIII. I can not do it on my present system so I am goona make me a new one... I don't have $$$ to burn so I gatta try and get it right the first time so I have been looking for starters at MOBO and CPUs. Every thing I find, all they can say is "this is a great product but I would not go and try playing DOOM on it" well what the heck would you go and play it on then... so this is what I am doing I would like any advice from any serious game players out there on what exactly I need to play this darn game... and if you could tell me why you chose what you did or give me a site to look things up.. I am not looking for a person to build my puter just some advice...
Thanks guys and if at all possible I tend to lean toward amd cpu's as that is all I have ever had but open to any thing and I am looking for a system that I can get going for a reasonable price but still make it bigger and better as I can afford it....

Also just on quick question while I am going one here is it bad to install cards in a mobo that has onboard vid,lan,sound,ect.. or as long as you disable the onboard does it not matter at all cus it is hard to find a MOBO that does not have at least some thing intergrated on it....

Once again thanks... (just trying to figure out all this stuff so I can have fun killing stuff)

1. Try asking for help in the General Hardware forum.
2. Learn English. Specifically, learn how to write a proper sentence.
3. Profit!

Quoted for truth.

Actually, I've never even played it, I'm just jumping on the bandwagon.

I have, and yes, it sucks. Buy HL2 or FarCry if you want a shooter.

I have 768 MB RAM, Epox 8RDA+ motherboard, Athlon 1.83 GHz CPU, and a 9600 Pro and the game runs and looks nice. Great game.

As far has a motherboard having integrated components, I don't think it matters as long as you turn them off. I have integrated sound, and have a Sound Blaster Live Value card in there instead. The onboard ethernet I use, it works great.

WOW tk149 that was a really good answer to all of the questions that I had asked?
Did that offer any positive feedback at all..
Thanks for being a beacon of light in my dark search of "DA LIGHT"

That really seems like a flame post if you ask me?
but what do I know I can even "write a proper sentence" so what does it matter anyway?

Doom 3 did not suck. It was an excellent shooter, and it was worth my time to play through to the end. That said, HL2 was way better.
