Ah, the PDA. Most of the useful PDA info is visual (such as email), most of the audio in the PDA was useless or just created atmosphere. You can work around any problems by getting all the needed info (cabinet codes, etc) from a site such as THIS.

And the video disks, I didn't realize how to play them back till the end of the game, so you don't really need them either.

I am confident in that You WILL be able to finish it.

No, I haven't played Splinter Cell.

I liked doom3 all the way thru. If you get stuck and it's not fun, then just find a walkthrough and be very carefull about what you read and just find out just enough to get you past the difficult spot.

It is a scary game though. Especially if you let yourself get "into" it. Like you have to pretend that your actually standing their, look around with the mouse like you would if your looking around yourself. It's get spooky.

I had a roomate watch me play a little bit. It's funny because she would squeak and jump a bit when ever a monster jumped out, also those little satan cerub baby things freaked her out a bit. I asked her if it was alright if I turned the lights off in the room while I play, she quickly replied "NO!", and then looked a bit emberased. Funny stuff.

My favorite had to be hell though. That level is the best looking level I've have ever played in any single player FPS game. EVER. The visuals were magnificent.

I think ID should just make new levels like that. Like a complete "ultimate doom" style expansion pack.

Hopefully people will keep on making mods while computation power increases. I still want to rocket-straff around a army of a hundred undead monsters at a hundred miles per hour like I did in the original doom series of games.

Yes, those satan cerub baby things were freaky.
My son and I used to jump out at one another when the other was playing Doom3.

I got bored early on, but made it to delta labs then stopped playing. Most overated game ever.

I was not impressed with Doom3 which is overated IMHO,glad I didn`t pay for it (my brother purchased the game for me).I do like to try & finish a game ,epecially if I paid for it,I would say you might as well finish the game unless you find it so unbearable.

I hate when I don't finish a game and then come back to it and forget what I was doing and it doesn't make any sense anymore.

Tell me more :D
I have the "stupid" tendency to play games at the most difficult level from the start, cauz most of the times I'm too bored to play it again.. Game must have some great repetitive value for me to play it again.
So it takes more time for me to finish a game. I just finished Hell level and I'm off for the last Delta level.
I have to admit that when the game started I thought "Great GFX but no thanks." Then I convinced myself to give it another try and I'm glad that I did that cauz I'm so absorbed now that I can't stop...
I really hope that the last part of the game after hell is so great as you say it is.

The ironic part is the back story and plot was the most interesting part of the game. The gameplay got repetitive and a little dull, but reading the PDA entries and reading about the ancient civilization on Mars and their war against the demons kept me interested enough to finish it.

Overall I found Doom3 extremely polished and worth my time. Though, I could see how some folks would hate it.

I did not say the end was "so great," said I found the latter part to be the best.
Psychologically speaking, if you have very high expectations of anything, chances are you will be disappointed. Change your expectation for this game to the end being better than the beginning or middle and then see how it turns out for you.;)

I understand that. I said I enjoyed the game so far so if it keeps me till the end like that, then we are all happy...
I said that because some ppl mentioned that when they finished Hell monster, game became really boring in the next levels...

do you need the BFG or the soul cube thing to beat the last boss? I can't seem to take him out for the life of me - I believe you have to nail him when he's got that stupid blue orb over him after shooting down those light-guys - is there some other trick?

He's not the last Boss. You've got some more ahead!

Persoanlly, I finished the game twice in 3 weeks on different skill levels. Obviously, I enjoyed the game. But, it does seem underpar for id.

Last boss is easy, beat him in 10 minutes just running around killing all the imps and throwing the soulcube at him..really disappointing..the ending that is.

Although I am a huge id fan, this is the only game I removed from my harddrive approximately 30 seconds after I finished it. Zero replay value, and unless they make some huge changes, I have no urge to play the expansion.

when is this kind of game story going to stop?

it seems like.. everygame has.. human built MONSTERS in them..

I would rather kill ALIENS

I loved the graphic and neatness.. but got bored very fast... I don't feel any action.. i just go around, surprised by monsters, and then kill them.. eh.. Doom2 was much better... "iddqd"
