ok, I just bought Doom3, and it successfully downloaded. I put in disk one, and click play, and the logo screen come up that should come up before it go up on full screen, and then it disapears, as it should...but then nothing comes up...no game! AH! Is my system good enough to handle it? I got A AMD 64 3500, a ATI radeon 9800 pro, and a k8n neo2 plat mobo...and a gig of ram...whats going wrong?

Just so we're clear: you aren't running a warez version are you?

If not did you actually install the game? From your post it's hard to tell.

oops, sorry for being unclear...yes, I bought the game, and it was Installed successfully. I dont know what Warraz is, but I dont think is it a warraz version.

Warez = pirated software.

What happens when you run the executable straight from the Start Menu?
And are you running the latest game patch and the latest GPU drivers?

The same thing happens when I run it from the star menu.

I'm not sure if Im running the latest game patch, wherer could I go to download it?

Ad what are GPU drivers? Are those drivers for my hardware? Caus eI am running the ltest drivers for those to the best of my knowledge.

I've run Doom3 on a Athlon 2700+ XP, 1GB PC3200, VIA KT880 board, and a Radeon 9800 and 9800XT. No problems. Update your drivers. The new Catalyst 5.8's are out now.

Well, Ill give it a try. Also, are there any other dxrivers for other pieces of hardware that I could update?

be careful with your videocard drivers and ESPECIALLY bios drivers, those arent just dinky little updates that cant harm anything, when installing your new videocard drivers do this:
-go to start>contol panel>add/remove programs
-select and remove your ati graphic drivers
-it will ask you to restart
-after restart install the new drivers(have these downloaded already)
-youll need to restart again
-now your drivers are updated woot!

for your bios, make sure your computer is NOT gonna be interupted while their updating, this can have BAD BAD effects lol....never do this during a thunder storm for sure heh

you game updates should be easy enough, once all that is updated and it still doesnt work you might try uninstalling and then reinstalling...sounds troublesome but it works alot of the time

if you still having problems, contact the place you bought the software from...id suggest NOT buying download copies as theres alot more chances for things to go wrong IMO, boxed copies are your best bet(return it if you can IMO) oh and this may be of interest:
