Doom 3 with Af enabled in control panel

Hi,

i just did some testing with doom3 and came to the following

Normaly my framerate in timedemo high quality, no Af, no FSAA = 55fps

Now I tried to see if AF gave me some better quality and came to the following benchresults. I changed the settings in my ati controlpannel. same resolution no FSAA, driver 4.8 and humus tweak.

AF 2X = 58.9fps
AF 4X = 58,5fps
AF 8X = 58,1fps
AF 16X = 58fps

After this test I tried again with my previeus setting with no AF and my framerate is now 57.2fps????????

2 questions:
why is my framerate not dropping with AF enabled?
Why is my framerate higher after these tests?

The AF in dooms probably overrides your control panel settings.

High quality enabled 8x AF automatically.

Not sure what options ATI drivers have, but on Nvidia, we can set it to Application Controlled (Doom3 will put it at 8x AF on High Quality), or we can manually set it ourselves to whatever we want.

Same with the ATI's. And I had it completly dissabled when I talk about no AF.

I also did some testing with Qualilty AF 8x and the frame rate is only a litle lower (1fps) then setting it to performance.

Both vendors' AF & AA settings will override Doom III's if you don't use "application preference".
