Remeber that Quake3 runs well in 1024x768x32 on a GF2 card

Exactly, and it was developed on TnT class hardware.

It was 2 generations of GPU's after the release when you could actually run high resolution with eyecandy and good FPS.

Based on that speculation, I expect NV30 and R300 to run the game quite schmoove for single player gaming, but the next-next gen stuff will really run fast. LOL so much speculation, my kidneys hurt.
