Okay, so this message would be for people who are knowledgable about Doom 3 and have played Ressurection of Evil.
In RoE, there's a room with an X-ray that two zombies walk out from behind. On my A64 3400+ with an x800 pro and 1 gig of ram, even facing the x-ray screen slows my computer to about 1 fps. On my friend's 3000+ with a geforce 4 ti4200 and 512 mb of ram, it runs FINE in that room.
What is it about my computer that magically cannot process the stupid x-ray room? It slows down INSANELY here and it's definitely not because the scene just has that much going on. As I said earlier, my friend with a way less powerful PC and an nvidia card runs it with not a single problem.
Also, why the hell is it that every time I shoot someone at point-blank range with the double-barreled shotgun, the game freezes for half a second? How annoying is that...my favorite weapon causes super slowdown. Besides entirely turning off blood FX, I cannot figure out how to make this stop. Any tips?
