Doom 3 Pre-Release Beta or Demo?

Any idea as to when to expect a Doom 3 beta or demo? If there is a beta, I'd expect it in a month or two. If they do release a demo which I hope they do so people can see if their system runs it well, I'd expect it maybe a month before the game is released.

According to Gamespy it will be out fall of this year, but no mentio about any pre-release or beat version. I'm thinking there will be some kindof prerelease or beta because iD Software had a bittorrent setup some time back they were testing someone here posted about and I'm guessing that if they release a Doom 3 demo or beta to the public, they won't be able to handle the bandwidth themselves so maybe they WILL release something before the game is out.

hmm, i thought public beta's were normally multiplayer tests? i gathered there wasnt going to be much in the way of MP to test in DooM3.

I would guess that they will release something right around the same time that Half Life 2 comes out, which is Sept 30th....Remember the Q3 test? Probably something along those lines.
