I want to know how would doom 3 and other recent games run on my new config...

AMD 3200 64 newcastle

512mb*2 ddr 400 kingston/transcned

128mb ati radeon 9800pro

I want to get stable fps of ver 30fps - 60fps.At what settings should I play doom3 and some other recent games of today?

Can you please post some benchmarked site.

Can i play @ 800*600*32-high settings and 40-50fps?

you can easily get 1024x768 on medium, and probably 800x600 on high with taht fps.

Ironic I happen to have the exact same setup minus one stick of ram. Only have 512 til I get more money ... Doom3 works decent 1024 high quality, noticed a few minor slowdowns. Perfect medium quality.

I ran it at 10x7 on high settings. But did dip to 20fps for a sec. here and there, no biggie. My pro was OC'd to XT speeds (or slightly higher).

Get the Humus tweak, it was very helpful to me in reducing the stuttering when loading new levels/opening doors etc. (I only have 512MB of ram).

I think I had 2x AA too.

At 8 x 6 you outta crank on high settings.

With my 5900XT card it was not worth replacing an Athlon XP with a Newcastle 3400+. It does play 1024x768 medium quality and AA very nice, though.

You really have to watch the video card for this if Doom3 is critical for you.
