Doom 3 NITRO Gore Mod

Is there something there that's out of the ordinary?

My Doom 3 already has blood....

edit: might check it out for the no-vaporize love. Playing with some ragdolls would be right up my ally.

But when you shoot a zombie with a rocket launcher does he blow up into tiny bits and dissapear? Or does his body stay there? This mod effectively destroys that stupid arguement "But the corpses don't stay!" 🙂

Nitro's mod takes out ALL gibbing. You could supercharge a BFG and shoot a zombie, it won't make him gib. It slows down the game a little, especially when there's a lot of monsters onscreen at once (namely those damn Trites, there's so many bodies after an onslaught it knocks off about 5fps). On the other hand, it makes ragdolls that much more fun, and it showcases why Doom's physics are superior to Havok's. 🙂

I can't get this mod to work 🙁 I had to reinstall the game because I messed it up the first time I tried 🙁

How did you mess it up? The mod goes in the main Doom 3 folder (that is to say, c:/program files/Doom 3/, not ...Doom 3/base) and you load it through the mod menu ingame. Or you can run the NitroGore.bat file that accompanies the mod folder...

It's still not working, what am I doing wrong? Some inctructions for "slower" people, might help me out a lot 🙂

UGGGH! SO FRUSTRATING! IT STILL DOESNT WORK!!! I EXTRACT THE FILE INTO C: PROGRAM FILES/DOOM3/DOOM3 AND STILL NOTHING!!! please, somebody help me 🙁

Er, it doesn't go in a subfolder. When you do it right, you should have a C:/Program Files/Doom 3/ folder that has two folders in it: base and Nitro, and one .bat file (Nitro.bat). That's all. Nothing else. Then you can select the mod from inside Doom 3 through the mods tab, or you can run Nitro.bat, which boots Doom 3 with the Nitro mod already applied.

(WARNING: If you're using any custom weapon mods, like the Flamethrower 0.3 mod that's floating around, you have to copy that pak file into the Nitro folder or the game will crash if you try to give yourself the custom weapon. I'm not sure why, but it works fine if you just copy the pak file. *shrug*)

I finally got it, thanks to the CLEAR and concise instructions included in the ungiggable mod 🙂 Gamer's Hell has well.... a helluva lotta Doom 3 mods! 🙂 Check it out sometime.
