wow, we took the screenshots in the same location. Maybe it's a bug in just that part of the game? I haven't noticed anything like this in any other part of the game

I've encountered 5 different instances wherein dead bodies are levitated and tossed around.....gave me the creeps.

I was just playing doom3 and I saw the image above. I love the physics in this game!
unfortunately the gameplay is crap . . . did you notice?

is anyone impressed with Doom's AI? :p

Its awesome when someone replies without actually reading an article or looking at a picture. Because if Appopin had he would know that DarkKnight was being very sarcastic. Instead he takes it seriously. HAR HAR I laugh.

Those parts are obvioulsy intentional. I don't think this is what the post is referring it.

Those are some funny ass pictures which just proves my point on how bad the physics are. Or at least definitely lack much.

I haven't seen anything as extreme as those.

No, AI shoots, hides - that's normal and been around for ever. Then if it can't see you, it runs towards you and to shoot and if it sees cover it will cover. Looks like there are only three options. Run, or cover and shoot, or shoot. Sometimes, rarely, I've seen it only in one guy. He couldn't see me so he backed up out of my view by a lot. Then when I was able to see him again, he came to me, but that seems more like a glitch rather than AI.

It is significantly better AI than MOH. But doesn't seem to be anything spectacular radical. MOH was retarded, because, AI would run until it got to a certain point and then it would shoot.

Nope, I think HL1's AI was even better than this. AI also seems kinda scripted. In one part of the game, I was fighting one of those zombie marines near a stairway. I started to run away to reload, and the zombie only started following me after my character reached a certain point on the stairs. I reloaded it again and fought the zombie again, but avoiding going all the way down the stairs and it didn't follow me for about a minute even though I was out of his sight. When I went all the way down, he started to follow me.

Another thing I noticed is that the enemies can't hear. In one point of the game I opened a door and saw a demon (early in the game, not an imp or a spider, but those wierd things that crawl), and it couldnt see me so I tried to throw a grenade at it, but missed. For some reason, it didn't react at all, just stood there waiting...

"Maggot" demons - and hand grenades are silent-throw. Shouldn't be silent bounce and explode though - if the AI doesn't react to that, that's just sad. Silent-throw is useful for MP though; I've developed a wicked curveball with those. :D

Yeah. Even in the original Doom, monsters would react to sound. There was one section, where you could blow up a barrel from a distance, and then all of the monsters would turn on each other, and attack each other, while you hid away. It would be a shame if this feature was missing from Doom3, that was one of the fundemental gameplay features in the original. (I have yet to play D3.)
