Hey could have bought it. There was a similar issue w/ Far Cry. Let me see if I can find the info I read about it...yeah, June 2004 Maxium PC. Basically if you are running a Virtual CD program, you may experience problems when trying to install a legit copy of the game. They didn't present a solution, but you arent alone. If you bought the game, then you may wanna try uninstalling your virtual CD software, or you may need to reformat, if you didnt pay for it, you need to go buy it.

Not true. My copy works fine with no problems out of the box.

Make sure you don't have CloneCD installed, or DaemonTools running with a drive, or Alcohol running with a drive; those are the usual culprits.

I had to shut off my Alcohol 120 virtual drive before the game worked. Its a built in check in the game. He may have a legit copy.

Dude, I've got Alcohol 120% AND Deamon Tools installed on my machine. I have the virtual drive turned off on Alcohol but Daemon Tools virtual drive is ALWAYS running on my machine. That being said, I had no problems installing Doom 3.

I had a simaler problem with call of duty. Even though i had the game and put the disc in it kept saying that. And even after un-installing cdClone i still got the error. Now i have to use the noCD patches for all the games that i have bought since cause there is something messed up. If you bought Doom 3 like me and you get the error i will give you the patch, pm me. If not, then go buy the game.

WTF is everyones problem who says he didn't buy it? I have bought Doom III tohugh, I didn't go pick it up from the stores yet and own Far Cry and EVERY other game I own I make a image of so I don't need to get the CD out all the time. I NEVER use my CD drive I ALWAYS use my virtual drive for the games that I can. Don't jump down his throat for no reason. bunch of dicks...

LOL, no kidding. It feels like something illigal even tho it isn't. And it kinda pisses me off how i spend like 50 + for a game and use it for 5 minutes and then it goes into my closet after i am done installing. Just doesn't feel like i am getting full use out of it.

You guys are a bunch of a holes for accusing someone when you have no idea what the hell you are talking about. So SHUT UP.

A lot of people with legit copies have had to turn off one virtual drive or another to get this game and far cry to work including myself.

You would play Doom3 for more than 5 minutes if you weren't using a GF3 graphics card.
