Doom 3 Early Release Was a Mistake!

So I go to the Best Buy in Hurst, Texas, where they have many displays up announcing the August 2nd 10:30 Doom 3 party, where they sell the game to customers are 12:01. The employees there have no idea about an early release.

So I go to the Grapevine, Texas Best Buy, look around a bit. Just like Hurst, big empty shelf space, ready to be filled. So I find some guy who seems to be bossing other people around and ask him if they have Doom 3. He said there was a mistake yesterday where the stores thought it was an early release, and set up full displays and whatnot, even selling the game to a few customers and employees. He said that his store took the display down this morning when they got a memo stating that for every copy sold pre-release, the store would be fined $200. So he said, unless I wanted to pay $250 for a copy of Doom 3, he couldn't let me have one.

That's an EASY decision. You buy the game for $250, then re-buy when it comes out next week. Take back the unopened $60 copy to get your $250 back.
