There is a co-op mod... and it doesn's steal your cd key. But all it does is allow another player spawn in all the single player maps. I downloaded it, but never installed it after reading that it crashes the server under a number of situations like:
- second player spawns on top of the first player
- any scripted events
- any cinematics

I am looking for any shooter games that have co-op to play on lan for PC. Things I've tried so far:
-Farcry Alpha co-op mod 8.2: Pretty flaky but it works. First 3 or 4 missions play well, after that you cannot complete the maps because of major map corruption problems. Good for some belly aching laughs tho
- Battlefield 1942/ DC/ Veitnam: Super fun at first, but after a while the the retarded bots and limited game modes get to you. Heli flying is the only thing that keeps me and my friends coming back to it.
- Joint Operations: Kick ass teamplay. Plays like Rainbow Six but on HUGE battlefield veitnam style maps. Extremely well made co-op maps. The only major flaw is that the bots can see through the grass and tree branches making it VERY difficult to sneek up on them. Constantly being killed because they can see you when you cannot see them gets old fast. Good thing the medic class can revive you from death. User made maps available but they arent near the quality of the Novalogic made maps.
