Well, I did. What's the point of having a "beautiful, realistic" game when you can't see your damned target.

Interesting gameplay mechanics >> "beauty" and "realism".

Part of Doom 3's tension was because you couldn't use a gun and a flashlight at the same time. As a result, there were a lot of situations where you'd spot an enemy, turn off your light, fire your gun wildly in the threat's general direction, and then turn your light back on to assess the damage.

A lot of people thought this was a terrible mechanic. If Doom 3 were anything other than a run 'n' gun shooter, I'd be inclined to agree; but I don't. I love how it added to the experience and made things that much more hectic.

Did you guys even watch the trailer?? it looks exactly like Doom 3 on PC 8 years ago.

I think this is just a report to x360 and ps3, and will not be improved on PC.

Did anyone watch the video trailer?? They still have the same weak-ass weapons sounds from the original game! Including that GOD-AWFUL machine gun that sounds like a pencil tapping on a desk.

Not to mention it looks NO DIFFERENT than it did on PC 8 years ago.

This is SO OBVIOUSLY a cash grab targeted at the console kiddies who were either too young to play Doom 3 new, or never owned a PC worth dick.

I played it back in the day for the story. I remember I was playing it late night once, in a pitch dark room, and my headphones and the power went out right in them middle of some event. Scared the shit out of me.

The hell. I just saw the trailer. It is like the same shit. Blocky characters, no textures.. craaaazy.

Judging by the screenshots, it's going to be great.

It's Doom 1, 2, 3, Resurrection of Evil and a new "Lost Mission" for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The PS3 version has support for new 3D TV's

I loved Doom 3, but I agree, they could have hired a professional to do the weapon sounds in the game. They just weren't convincing... at all.

I really enjoyed doom 3. I dunno what's the fuss about, the sound is amazing and plus it's DOOM people!

At least the new generation of players can have a chance to experience that started it all (besides wolfenstein)

I'm of the minority that liked Doom 3.

Me too.

Although, for some odd reason, it always irked me that the guns have no sights whatsoever or have designs that actively work against you if you'd attempt to aim that thing IRL (especially the SMG) - but then again, seeing a glowing ANYTHING on a supposed soldier/warrior (especially fluff design pieces) in any game or movie irks the shit out of me too - for instance Sting in LotR: so you tell a little weakling half-tard dwarf to go deep into enemy territory where you are easily outnumbered 100 to 1 with the sole key to winning the war, every single one of your enemies is supposedly very heavily armed, and the only weapon you give him is a sword THAT GLOWS WHEN ENEMIES ARE NEARBY? ARE YOU SERIOUS? IS THIS SOME KIND OF SICK JOKE? - so I may be a vocal minority on that one.
