I have about the same specs as you, except with 1GB of RAM.. I can run 1024x768@high with 2x(or 4x) AA.. runs smoothly!

Frankly speaking I don't really notice much difference.. too busy getting scared shitting purple crap :eek:

if you look at my D3:Guns thread, you'll see that even between medium and ultra high, differences in the environment are not noticeable. In fact, I find the medium setting to be more appealing (less blurry).

i can easily tell the difference between medium and high.

are you telling me that you can't see the higher texture quality in those pictures on hardOCP? it's really noticeable.

i mean look at the first picture

look at the grate on the bottom, or the fence. high quality is so much sharper with more detail.

anyway, it still looks good though, on medium or high.

The three problems with that reasoning are that the High image is at a higher resolution (800x600 vs 640x480), has 8X AF enabled (Medium doesn't), and is on a different graphics card (albeit from the same family).

The only way to be sure that the difference you are seeing is due to High over Medium is to run them at the same resolution on the same card with 8XAF enabled ... and while you're at it, some benchies to see if there's a speed difference would be nice :D

Already posted

to get a good look at the environment, open the file with a paint program and brighten it up.

there are NO differences. Mind you, I am using 16X AF throught the control panel.

MQ=medium quality
UHQ=ultra high quality

I also didnt notice any difference between the textures in medium and ultra high. I think the only difference is that in ultra high the textures arent compressed.
