Don't you love people who are really clear and concise?

Me neither!

I asked this of somebody over email:

QUESTION:[want to confirm that]"In place of a social security number on the endorsement form a Canadian
social insurance number is adequate to issue a temporary TN nursing license.."
ANSWER:"we do not need Canadian social."

That was the entire answer. Does this mean that they can give the license without SSN or canadian social, or that they can't use the canadian social? Who knows. I sent a followup email:

QUESTION:"If indeed a Canadian RN is not required to give you a social security number
to be issued a temporary TN nursing license, will he or she need to give you
one to get their permanent TN nursing license?"

ANSWER:"Since our licensure system is built on social security numbers, we do need the number. My understanding is we don't require it if the individual refuses to provide it. "

I'm not kidding! That was the response I got! I sent a third email and still awaiting a response. Her last one basically said "We do require a social security number but if you don't want to give us one then that's ok too."

If Moonbeam worked there he would not only know the answer with great precision, but he would be able to put that answer in terms and language so clear, balancing all the nuances and vageries of interpretation with such mathematical and artistic finesse that those of you who even now can't rub two words together to save your soul, would have to rush off as usual to find your local wierdo to translate it into terms mundane enough for you to comprehend.

I feel for you skoorb. Those responses belong in a book. I think terrorists have gotten to the American tooth paste supply and put something in it that is causing a civilization wide mind rot. :D

I know the feeling. I e-mail Directv about how to obtain an access card if I buy used equipment w/o one. The response is that I send in my old card and for a $20 fee I will be issued a new one. This was not an automated response, btw.
