Don't you just love it when companies do this:
My laptop seems to be incompatible with IEEE-1394 / Firewire PCMCIA cards.
So i send the laptop manufacturer an email asking which cards they tested and which are compatible.
This is their reply:
Dear Sir,
Regarding your email, 3220 is an old model we never try any 1394 pcmcia card or 1394 device on this model at that period !
Sorry, we don't have the compatibility list for you .
Best regards

The Laptop is only 2 years old and at that time firewire was THE UPCOMING THING because USB2.0 was not yet on the horizon.
I just send them back an email telling them I would appreciate it if they test it NOW and tell me the results.
Furthermore I asked them if they ever had somebody return the laptop for a newer model.
I think this is pretty outrageous for a hardware manufacturer (especially laptops) not to test his hardware for compatibility.
And especially for PCMCIA cards which are a STANDARD!!! Those damn things are like PCI cards for laptops!
