...you get a brand new 480W Thermaltake silent-pure power psu (to replace a 300W POS), a brand new 7000b-cu hsf (to replace a speeze whisperock), and 6 new 80mm Panaflo L1A's and your best system refuses to boot after the upgrade. :|

I'm guessing my motherboard is dead (I will know for sure tomorrow), I've got another system to test with, but I'm giving up for tonight.

(I'm a seasoned tech, so no need to offer help with troubleshooting.....although I might need a replacement nforce2-ultra motherboard (or processor) soon though :()

UPDATED 08-17-05 :D:D:D:D:D:D:thumbsup:
I got my main rig back up, bought an nf7-s and a mobile athlonXP2400+ from the fs/t threads. luckily I need only minimal driver updates and had to re-activate windows and office. downside is my new heatsink won't work with this board because of capacitor height:(.

Updated again 8-25-05
Got another 2400+ from Jeff7, but I just found out that I have somehow managed to nick a uCapacitor between my northbridge and cpu socket:(

I have a WTB thread going in FS/T at the moment. (if anyone has a spare shuttle mn31n or a biostar m7ncg 400 laying around I'd be thrilled to give it a good home)

Does the motherboard have power? have you swapped out psu's?

I'll stop there. Best of luck lobadobadingdong!

I had fun last night too. I have 2 almost indentical systems, but one had a board die. So I spend a few weeks looking for a replacement board. I finally get one and it wont boot it gets half way through that ram chack and stops. We will call this system B. So I take the hard drive from System B and put it in System A and I not have my setiqueue/webserver back. I then take the drive from system A, put it in system B and it starts to post, but give me a boot disk failure. What? So I switch the drives again and system A fires right up and system B stops at the ram check.

I gave up!

well, looks like I have a bad motherboard, and now 2 bad processors :(, so now my home server is also out of commission for little while.
