so my friends and i were transferring ringers to each other today during class (we had a sub and we were real bored). i have a sprint treo 700p which has unrestricted bluetooth so it can send/receive practically anything. i can send ringers to a razr, a t-mobile samsung, a slvr, and even a W810i...just NOT a krzr. it can only receive contacts and not anything else. its so stupid...

btw, that phone has a HORRIBLY slow interface and it feels quite cheap. i actually prefer the razr over it.

cliffs:
-my friends krzr (sprint) cant receive or send anything via bluetooth except for receiving contacts
-krzr feels cheap and it sucks

Yeah my sister's samsung is like that. I really don't see the point of only being able to use bluetooth for handsfree. I wonder why some phone's only have partial bluetooth capabilities?

To make people spend money to have it unlocked... or the company doesn't relize the potential of it.

i know...it sucks. it reminds of verizon and how they put that useless/retarded red ui all over their phones (the alltel razr firmware flash comes to mind).

gah, dont restrict bluetooth people!

Because if it was that damn easy to transfer ringtones, you wouldnt need to buy them. And since phone minutes are such a commodity, they count on those ringtones for a large amount of their profits.

Same reason why treos don't have wifi, and don't even work with some wifi cards - because then you wouldnt pay for their wireless internet service.

Its a tough break, but they gotta make up for the money they lose on subsidizing the phones.
