Don't you hate it when someone touches your screen?

I don't care. Unless they do damage. Smudges come of easily on MCD's.

But, One thing I can't stand people touching are my shiny things

I touch my ipod screen all the time. In fact, I have a tablet PC that I touch the screen on all the time. I have not cleaned it once in 3 years, and it still looks fine. Maybe I just have clean/non oily hands or something.

I think ultimately this is why I don't want one. That and I'd much rather have a 160gig version for around the same price as a 16gig touch.

One of my buddies pointed at something at my screen yesterday and I asked him if he just touched it in a half-jokingly pissed manner and he's all, "No, why the hell would I do that? I hate when people come over and ask if my TV is a big screen TV as they wipe their smudgy fingers all over it as if it's not real." This is why we are friends. Men don't touch other men's monitors.

I don't like it when people touch my screen, nor do I like touch interfaces without some sort of stylus. The iPhone looks like a smudgy piece of shit after just a few uses. I really hate that.

Meh, Apple includes a polishing cloth. It gets the fingerprints off of the unit nicely.

The only screen I care about is my computer monitor and maybe home television. I paid good money for them, they are big and high quality and I want to look at something nice.
I clean them regularily for that reason.

Handheld devices are made for convenience. Convenient music, mapping, web access, whatever.
They dont need to look perfect, just perform a function.

get a microfibre cloth, they clean nicely and streak free. wear latex gloves at all time if you are that paranoid.

I have a touch screen phone (not the iPhone) and the smudges do get kind of gross after a week, but it only takes about 3 seconds of wiping it with my shirt to make it look good again.

An Ipod Touch is like a new girlfriend when you first meet her. You be careful, gentle, though you'll likely want to touch her all you want, while not wanting anyone else to. Later on though, you'll just get used to the imperfections and just stop caring.

To answer your question, I can't. It bothers me A LOT. Before my IPOD died, I made sure that I always had my acrylic case on it before even using it... I have a mild case of OCD, so you can imagine how bad I am when it comes to people touching my screen and things like my IPOD or my car's windshield... *flips out*

i hate it when people touches my monitors. its usually for POINTING TO SOMETHING and i'm like omg why do you have to physically touch the screen to illustrate your point. I think its just instinct, but just thinking about it makes me angry argh!!!!

LCD monitors are different too because you're touching the actually soft screen. With a phone, there is a hard cover over it, which is easier and safer to clean.

Does an LCD get damaged when you poke it? Why don't computer monitors have a hard covering like cell phones, etc?

No comment on the iGimmick but I hate when people touch my LCD at work.. I make it a point to open my desk drawer and get my cleaning solution so I can do a long drawn-out cleaning process in front of them while I stare at them.

i have one customer that has labels on all their monitors to not touch them. when i go in there, i make sure to touch them and put lots of smudges all over it, just to drive the one operator nutso. its pretty funny, but i always cleanit after he sees it. i dont really care if people smudge my screens, i wipe them constantly anyway. the only one im OCD about is the inside screen on my enV phone. i wipe that like its imaginary blood i cant get off my hands. my tv is another, no one touches it.
