then don't raise so quickly on the pre-flop. I usually only raise about half the blind pre-flop if I have something decent, and then kick it up high right after flop

Well I came in with a small raise. Blinds at the time were 50-100, I raised to 200. That was the usual raise. I just didn't want to face the entire table if I just called.
