right now, i'm printing out like customs forms and stuff because some canadian bought my laptop on ebay. Can they not read that part that says "US only" . good thing this guy paid the $60 in shipping and he's gonna get killed by customs.


a canadian bought a video card from me too. this guy didnt even ask if he could buy it. he just bid on it, didnt even read, and then paid with that ebay checkout thing.

All computers, computer parts, and computer peripherals are duty free. We just need to pay the taxes on them like we have to on everything.

Canada isn't so bad, I had someone from Portugal win one of my auctions once, that was irritating.

Worst of all is the NPB "winner", ugh.

BTW Pepsi90919, I wonder if you'll enjoy your "free" healthcare and "toll-free" roads after you are paying taxes? TANSTAAFL.

eh, I consider the US's Social Security the mother of all rip-offs. We certainly get put through the ringer up here as well but it's not nearly as bad as what you'd expect.

However my home province of Ontario did fund the building of Highway 407 from taxpayer dollars only to sell it off to a private consortium which has hiked tolls on us four times since its opening. :(

we get toll free highways, as long as you live on the beautiful west coast :) i don't know how you east coast people can stand tolls.... i felt like i was getting raped each time i went through one.

and even on jobs where they do take off taxes, there was practically nothing going into taxes at all. it was all EI.

I always check first. If I need the item very bad, I email them and ask. Its called being considerate.

And all you yanks trying to invade Canada: We still have our tank ready to go and filled up to the top with cold beer.:)

u should always put a note in ur auctions that it costs extra to ship to anywhere other then the US. then u can REAM them with whatever fees u like. woohoo! i am learning from pricewatch :D

Quite a few people brought out the tank bit actually.

I'm worried about that tank personally, being a resident of NY...and not NYC. We share a damn border with those beer drinking, hockey playing, moose loving people. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

yeah, the only time I sold anything on eBay (~$100 CD Player) it was bought by a friggin Canadian. Even though I said "US Only" and "PayPal Only" very clearly in the item description. And he didn't have PayPal either - he actually asked "What's this PayPal thing you mention" and I had to wait for 5 days until his account was approved. What a jerkoff. I really wanted to cancel it (esp. as he had payed my Buy it Now price, which in retrospect I should have set higher) but this was my first sale and I didn't want to endanger my precious 14 positive feedbacks. I wish that I had at least thought to rip him off on shipping. Oh well. Live and learn.
