I don't care if Microsoft is the best or the worst, but they're on top and have the most money, business, and market share; so instead of whining and b!tching about how linux (EDIT: or any other alternative OS or product) is better, I'm gonna cash in on their success by participating.

ROFLMAO!!! :D
I guess you haven't used any of the recent distributions of Linux, eh?

<< I'm gonna cash in on their success by participating. >>

How exactly do you plan to do that? By buying their sh!tty OS? The reason Microsoft is so huge is because they target the average, stupid user. If that describes you, then good. But I sure don't want to fit into that category.

By working for them, hopefully. That's my goal. I do own some of their stock, and have no plans to sell it.

Actually, the only truly stable and secure computer is a machine with no network connection, sealed completely in an impermeable room.
Did I mention it also cannot be plugged in?
Then it can't possible be hacked. Never mind that you can't USE it!

Best of luck to you! I have 2 friends that are working their now and have told me some really good stuff about Microsoft. It is supposedly an awesome company to work for, with lots of perks. I wouldn't mind working there myself, but I still like Linux better than Windows. ;)

Yeah, right, you are going to cash in on buying expensive software when the better alternative is free...

They only have success because of users like you, if users would start migrating to Linux, then Linux would be a success, AND free.

Open source to me is a way of getting things done. I have heard about people saying how MS are afraid of Linux, no, MS are not afraid of linux, they are afraid of Open Source, if Open programming is a good alternative, or maybe even better, where will they be then?

Some companies have already seen this start and are trying to migrate, MS are still hanging on, just like they did with the original MSN, they thought they could compete with the Internet, do you remember that?

Open source combined with XP (eXtreme Programming), nothing new under the sun.
