Charter's just went down. Seems my computer didnt want to switch over to the other server, so I just spent around 20 minutes trying to get my internet back :|


24.197.160.17 apparently either no longer exists, or died. What I dont get is why my router still sees it? Nothing shows up if you ping it, just times out.
 
Your router doesn't "see" it, it's just part of the info that gets sent to your router in response to its DHCP request.
 
Well what annoyed me was that it died in a weird way. This one website still worked a bit for a time, but not everything loaded correctly. And then after some time it just stopped working completely.

Thought my router locked up

probably cause that address is cached
