Dont you ever wish you were stupid

Im not saying that im a genious or even close, but I think I can comprehend things that the general public cannot. Which leads to NOT understanding things that are taken for granted. I question a lot, and find few answers. I wish I was a fvcking moron.

Ignorance is bliss...

<< no, i do however wish i didn't let anyone know i was a computer genius 😉 >>

hahahahahah, yeah... someone started a frickin rumor that i was a computer expert.. prolly cuz i know a decent amount... plus i brought 2 pcs and have a dual monitor setup and can answer weird but easy questions.. now everyone frickin asks me for help with EVERYTHING...

Would you like to know what really annoys me?

Flag waving sheeple that have no clue as to what's really going on. Braindead morons. Spoon feed these people bullshlt and they'll eat it up, lick their lips, and say "Thank you sir, may i have another?".

thats not the point... obviously sheep r bad (i think).. but.. dont you ever wish you could just be one of em.. i mean.. most of those flag waving sheep beleive that they are good people simply from the act of raising a flag, and feel all warm and fuzzy inside.. now im not saying that thats bad or right or wrong or anything... but..

Wouldn't a "flag waving sheeple" be more of a curiosity than annoying?

"It's not only 1/2 human, 1/2 sheep, but it waves a flag to boot."

The reason ignorance is bliss is because it's unnatural biologically for you to be sitting in a room reading books and contemplating the fate of the world. You are denying what makes you human. However, if you are born smart just find something meaningful and use it to make something good happen.

I would definately not want to be a moron. There is a girl at my school who is pretty slow on the uptake, and I wouldn't want to be like her at all. We spend our entire math class having our teacher explain things to her. Then she asks the same questions 4 times in a row!! I can't stand her! Honestly, I don't mind that she doesn't get it, but the fact that she is a pothead who doesn't pay attention then asks the same questions again and again pisses me off.

No thanks, I would rather be smarter then I am right now 🙂
Smart enough to take more then 2 AP courses 😉

Yes, it is...

There are times when I'd prefer to be stupid like the masses, cause then the world would make MUCH more sense...

As it is, to us it just seems insane... This is probably true for a number of people here since I'm willing to bet the rate of inteligent people here is WAY above the national average...

Excellent topic, bob970. I've actually agonized over this for years. For a while I blamed all of the acid I did, but now I'm glad I did it because it opened my eyes to alot of stuff I never paid attention to before. A lot of people walk around with their heads up their asses, oblivious to what they're doing or what's really going on around them. Maybe it's a defense mechanism, or maybe it's just stupidity.

I think if you talk to anyone on a certain level, you'll find that most people are aware of the crap that tortures us, but few choose to do anything about it. I used to think there was just an overall lack of basic thoughtfullness in people, but then I realized that alot of people choose fitting into their view of the world, over taking any chances. Thinking too much just makes being human too hard for some people.

So to answer your question, No. As much as it sucks sometimes, I don't wish I was a moron. Ignorance may be bliss, but who needs bliss when you have a free mind? Also, as much as I hate to admit it, it kind of gives me a feeling of moral superiority over some people, which I know is wrong, but I can't help it and I don't think it changes the way I interact with other people. I just try to be a nice person.

Maybe I've missed the point of the question completely and looked too deep into it as I tend to do, but I hope not. Thanks for the topic, man.

anyways, smart is very objective. If you ask one random person, they'll tell you they are "smart" in their own way, and there is somewhat of a truth in that.

Lisa has it more right than most people care to admit...

She actually says a number of very smart things...

I need to write a book called, "All I need to know I learned from The Simpsons"

😀

Ahmen to that, Jason! My friends and I spent a semester stuyding physics at brookhaven national lab, and we both agree we got more from being on Long Island, watching that show 3 times a day than doing any damned research. It points out alot of crap people forget about. Even some lines homer says that seem to be stupid on the surface are actually pretty intelligent. I wish I could think of one now. Figures.

That really does suck. Now everyone needs me to fix everything...😉

heh.. i agree with the simpson's thing.. in just checked out a philisophical book from the library that starts out with a simpson's quote

I mostly just wish that when I'm in meetings-that-never-end. Then I wouldn't realize how pointless the meeting is, that I only needed to be there for about 2.5 minutes of it, or that it has degenerated into meaningless management-babble.

heh.. yeah.. now that i think about it.. i'd do way better in my classes if the work was challanging.. instead i just blow of the work and make STUPID mistakes
