So I spent the whole day trying to get this old 133mhz notebook into working order.
Pulled out the notebook's drive, plugged it into adapter, fdisk, format, copy win95 setup files (win98/2k were giving me modem problems), oops it's Fat32, can't get Win95 on there, make win95 system disk, fdisk again, format, copy setup files, put drive back into laptop, install win95 ... pcmcia services not working properly, modem card not recognized, can't install drivers ... find updated system drivers from hp.com, put them on a disk, data fault error, find another disk... data fault error.. pull out laptop hd, plug into adapter, copy driver package directly onto HD, put hd back in .. driver program wants to make a disk image, put disk in... data fault error.. pull out laptop hd, plug into system..
And this time I smelled something odd, a burning smell, and the notebook HD was dead.. Must have had the wrong pins connected with the adapter or something... at least it was only a P133, though. heh.
