That's what they say, and I have my limits and decide what my value system is, but I generally disagree with what they say. You know who they are. The ones who don't value the time they have today and instead gamble everything on tomorrow.

The thing is, most of the people who balk at the price of the things that I want have their own vices that I would never pay for either. They think they're "saving" because they didn't spend $500 on a graphics card? In that case I saved 100% of the cost of the bass boat they DID buy. Who's the smart shopper now eh?

i just checked mint.com - my spending has averaged a little over 2000$ per month in the past 4 years.

that includes bills, vacations, fun, games, gifts for family, AND buying a new car. and a couple of 300$ video cards, and a 700$ monitor. everything. without the car, that average would be about 400$ less per month.

if you need to spend all your money to feel good about yourself, i feel bad for you son.

You should spend your money wisely on the things that you value. If your basic needs are taken care of and your future is reasonably secure, then go ahead, why the hell not?

I have a friend who values going on cruises and going to concerts (often combining the two), and she spends tons of money doing that. I value different things, and thus spend differently.
