What's so scary? He's right. Most people out there on the roads don't pay attention and still couldn't drive even if they did pay attention.

his purpose everyday is to race people because he doesn't want them to get in front of him! The fact that they are not paying attention is not the point. I'll admit most people piss me off on the road too, but i don't write a blog about it. and purposely try to "beat" them in a "race" that they have no idea they are in!

So he remembers every single detail in his daily drive? I think the person has a tad bit of a superiority complex.

I think his "race" is just sarcasm. Looks like he's just trying to add some excitement to his daily commute. I'm not much of a fan of slowass incompentent drivers in front of me in the left lane either. Get in the right lane, slowpoke!

I totaly agree in that regards, I have a long commute myself. But I think this guy has some sort of complex going. He freaks if somebody passes him. especialy if the light is red and somebody pass as soon as it turns green. he has to catch up and "beat" them.

You mean you actually have to pay attention while you're driving? Oh gads. I thought that was playtime! :D

Both my wife and I can relate to this guy. There are so many inconsiderate and bad drivers it's overwhelming and at least this guy is writing about it.

I think we should dial down all the speed limits. For example our feeder roads that lead to I-85 that are now 45MPH should be knocked down to 30MPH, that's all the people do anyway with no traffic in front of them, especially people in pick-up trucks. The only thing that worries me though that if we do knock the signs down to 30MPH then the Road Hogs will do 20MPH.

Also should knock the Interstate speed signs from 70 or 65 to what the feeder roads were at 45MPH, yes even less than the old 55MPH.
When you are doing 70MPH and come up on all these people doing 45 or less, sometimes 35MPH it's what creates more than half of the wrecks I have been seeing on I-85. We just had a 24 car wreck on the Interstate here because a lady felt she had to do 20 MPH, she didn't want something she had in the back of her pick-up to blow out. At least if everyone is going slower we won't have all these high speed into slow speed wrecks, there won't be enough speed to pile up a couple of dozen cars.

You can relate to this guy?!

here is a quote from his latest post.

"Now I?m behind a Ford Thunderbird, it?s slick, it?s sleek, its going 55mph! We are all going 75mph, see the dilemma. Sinatra would not be proud of the way this car was being driven. I got around this Sunday driver and headed on."

That is a little different than what you are saying. This guy drives to a different state in order to get to work..he is trying to find the fastest way there...

As for your idea to knock down the speed limits, I disagree. I think there should be penalties for people who drive too slow. Going 20mph in a 70 mph zone is dangerouse. even going 20 in a 45 is dangerouse IMO.

It doesn't say that this 55 is in the left lane but I'm sure that is most likely the case which caused the guy to have to pass on the right.

"I think there should be penalties for people who drive too slow."

The signs say Minimum 45MPH on the Interstate. Law enforcement can't keep with ticketing slow drivers just as they only get a few fast ones, the only sensable solution is to slow everyone down.

"even going 20 in a 45 is dangerouse IMO"

Absolutely , get behind people doing this everyday on the 45MPH 2 lane roads with very few spots that you can pass. Trip into town that should only take 20 minutes winds up taking at least 45 minutes.

We were sucessful in lowering the speed limit in our immediate area to 25 MPH, the signs were 35MPH and the people that don't poke along barreled in the subdivision at 55MPH or more. Now they have been averaging down around 35MPH. So I have seen it work first hand.

They should set a specific speed on highways and make it so that if you're >120% or <80% of the listed speed you'd be ticketed.
