Well a couple of months ago I'm about to cancel my Unlimited 3 out at a time plan...

I had complained quite abit over the last year about turnover and just not using the service as much because of travel for my job......

Then they start the online movies service at no additional cost (which I can watch on my laptop when traveling)....
Then I buy a PS3 for blu-ray and that doesn't cost me any extra...
They lower the plan I'm on by a dollar a month...

Then today I found out when I got some new movies, that they have opened a new netflix shipping facility in Springfield, MO which should decrease my turnaround time by two days round trip....

For somebody that just usually gripes about these companies, as far as I'm concerned right now netflix is doing all the right things to keep somebody like me around.....
That is until they piss me off again :)

So how is that online movie service?

How long does it take you to DL the movie?

the only thing i don't really like about netflix is the selection of movies for the online player. most of them are old crappy B type movies.

They do have a few great movies, but I've already seen most of them. I'm sure they'll get more eventually though.

It streams at various rates depending on your connection (minimal startup time) and not all movies are availible, but plenty to keep me busy...

i just posted about that.

the selection isn't so hot.
takes like 30 seconds for the movie to start and it streams through. i've watched several movies through it now and never had a prolem with stuttering or pauses or anything like that. I think quality might be a little worse than DVD, but its good enough for me.

Netflix's software said my connection is slow and it took me 3 to 5 minutes to start up (DSL here). And the picture quality is really bad, i wonder if it has to do with the connection.
I agree with pontifex about the selection, there arent much good movies in there.

Blockbuster Online blows. I have used both at the same time (gift) and there is no way I would ever give blockbuster my money.

Not to mention there recent change in exchange policy and their "no late fee" policy being reduced to 10 days before you are charged $40 for a $15 movie :|

I had blockbuster through the free trial and really didn't like it because the selection of movies sucked and turnaround time was even worse than netflix at the time......

Might be better now though

When you say "Right Now" I assume that you're referring to the Hagar-era Van Halen song. Otherwise, it simply makes no sense to captilize and use quotation marks.

So I wonder, what does Van halen have to do with Netflix?

To my knowledge, you cannot buy a $15 movie and put it on a rental shelf. You need one of those more expensive specially-licensed copies that is allowed to be rented, etc.

Netflix rocks, but I wish that 300 didn't have a "very long wait" availability status right now :(
