Don't they have weight limits in peewee football?

I seem to remember some sort of article posted a while back about a kid not being allowed in to peewee because he was so big it wasn't safe for everyone else.

That kid seriously looks like he's triple the size of the smaller kid he ran over.

edit: Here we go. 6ft, 300lbs, 12 years old. Fucking A.

I'd have chop blocked the fat pig and watched him squeal, with glee, while rubbing my hands, eyes squinted, laughing diabolically...

There's a weight limit of 100 lbs including pads for PeeWee football. Somebody put a toe under the scale to pass that kid. I know because the coach used to do it when I played PeeWee football. :D

Fat kid at RB, a whole lot heavier than the kid he runs over.

It depends on the league. I played in Gwinnett County, GA and there were no weight limits. My little league team won 4 county championships in a row because we had 5 huge kids and we just ran over everyone. We all ended up being over 6 feet tall and well over 200 pounds. That team also played for the state championship my senior year. The guy who ended up being the biggest played for Auburn. I ended up making All-State in baseball, too.

On the other hand I also played little league at Redan (in Tucker/Lithonia) Little League before we moved to Gwinnett and there was a weight limit there so I ended up playing with kids that were 3-4 years older than me. I think I was 6 and playing with a bunch of 10 year olds.

Here is a great video of a guy you probably know if you follow football:

I don't think they are complaining about him exercising, I think people are complaining about who he exercises with.

I remember seeing him in a HS All-Star game (when he was a BYU commit) and thinking it was ridiculous to have a guy that quick at that size. He's a special athlete.

As you said, some leagues have weight limits and some don't. My middle son is a little guy but wanted to play tackle football as a 9 year old. In his first practice, he was lined up at defensive end against a 210 pound lineman. He weighed about 65 pounds at the time. He of course got dominated all practice and was quickly soured on tackle football :). I'm keeping an eye on the 210 pound kid because I suspect he'll end up as a college lineman - he is big, fairly quick for his size, and mean as hell on the football field.

For what it's worth, after playing very sparingly as a 9 year old, my son wanted to redeem himself and played again the following year. He ended up making a game-saving tackle to get his team into the playoffs as a cornerback.

During a Ravens game a couple of months ago someone pulled up an old video of Haloti Ngata playing rugby when he was 12 or so. It was hilarious to watch how he just ran through all the other kids & shoved away people who were trying to tackle him. Apparently the guy has been a beast since he was young.

I was six feet tall and 250 pounds at 12.

Kid tried to tackle him all wrong. I did that once in a scrimage, not sure why, but I half assed ran at someone to block and a guy who was maybe 20-30lb heavier then me was hauling ass with the intention of sitting me on my own.

I got knocked to the ground just like that little cornerback.

Get in close, then backtrack a little and just hang on and be dead weight.
