DON'T ORDER YOUR GAINWARD GEFORCE4 FROM www.unitedmicro.com

I placed an order for a Gainward Geforce4 Ti-4600 about a month ago, and they never contacted me about the delays, and on their website they keep pushing the ETA date back for "NEW" orders, but for some reason the order I placed a MONTH ago never got shipped. I keep calling them and they keep saying "Sorry, we're outta stock for that item" and I would explain them my situation, and they would reply "Sorry, we're outta stock for that item". I was so pissed waiting for so long, and I had to wait even longer, so I just cancelled my order. If you are thinking about ordering a Gainward from them, please consider other places first.

What is another place I can order from? I ordered also and they are telling me another two weeks before it is shipped. I ordered about a week and a half ago. They said they only get about 60 units per week.

I would highly recomend the MSI GF4 card as an alternative.

I was trying to get the Gainward, but I gave up - too many etailers were playing games (like charging extra for the included 3D glasses)

I got the MSI card for $355 and I think it is actually $339 now.

It comes with a ton of software and a very nice VIVO cable - everything you need.

The only think you are getting extra with the Gainward is a Firewire card and 3D glasses and if you really want those items, the price difference will more than cover them.

I guess you wont get the dual DVI - but for most ppl, thats no biggie.

Anyway - just my advice - good luck.

just a quick note -

im from cleve, oh and they are 20min away from me. I did a preorder on the 1st day and haven't heard from them since, I've called several times, always get the out of stock story. Oh well, I didn't pay anything on the order so I bought a visiontek. Anyways I am still on the list because I never officially called and cancelled the order. Will I ever hear from them?

That's so weird. I just ordered a Gainward 4400 from unitedmicro.com on Tuesday, and they've already shipped it out. According to FedEx, it's somewhere in Ohio :)

Hey psykik, thx for trying to help :), but I searched and ordered a Gainward GeForce4 Ti-4600 from http://www.monarchcomputer.com. I called them up today and asked if they were in stock, they said the shipment should be in tomorrow if not by this Friday and they will ship out the same day, so I gladly placed an order. Hopefully all goes well by what they tell me, and I will be FINALLY getting my card next week. I also asked if they had a lot of backorder, but they said the list was pretty short, so I'm sure they will have a good amount of cards available when the next shipment comes in. As for www.unitedmicro.com, just don't order the Gainward Ti-4600's....unless you want to wait a couple months :(

I ordered mine from unitedmicro and they delayed the shipment by a week, but it was no big deal. I had no problem with them and they seemed to know what they were talking about when I called them. My friend also got the same service from them when he ordered his...

Hey Roxxor,

I feel your pain. Not only did Qbit PC (www.qbitpc.com) do that to me, they pratically stole $40 bucks from me after I cancelled my order. I guess they knew that if they shipped it to me anyway, I'd be forced to pay the restock fee. I've even reported them to the BBB, but I still lost that money, which I could have added to the rest of my money to buy a Ti500 instead of a Ti200. Its really sickening.

I've decided to never go anywhere else besides Newegg or Crucial, unless a place comes highly recommended on these forums.

You should call up your CC company and dispute the charge, they can't charge you for something they never shipped.

I also got screwed by Unitedmicro. I understand that the card is hard to get right now, but the thing is they _lie_ to you. They know damn well they don't have enough cards to fill every order before a certain date, yet they leave the same ETA time up and just let the orders keep rolling in. Then they say "oh, we got a shipment in but your card will be going out with the next shipment". And then the next, and the next. I had about $800 worth of stuff to get besides and I ordered none of it from Unitedmicro because of that.
