How are the people who threw gas on her and lit her different than people who waht to know why she has 8 kids. Both are equally dead to the horror of their actions.

Why does she have 8 kids if she cant feed them?

Thats how life is in the middle east. And we're set out to bomb innocent people.

Ummm....we're going to be targeting military targets - military vehicles, military installations, military personnel....not innocent people

You actually think no innocent people will die? That's uhh, pretty funny.

There's A HUGE difference between targeting valid military objectives and having the very unfortunate side effect of innocents dying and PURPOSEFULLY targeting innocent civilians. If you think the U.S. truly does not care about avoiding civilian casualties at all costs, why the hell does our military spend countless millions of dollars on researching, developing, and producing precision-guided weapons and why the hell does Saddam favor using human shields?

But you know for a fact that thousands of Iraqis will die from our bombs. Our "shock and awe" plan will send 3000 bombs in the first 2 days of the war.
The lives of hundreds of thousands of Iraqis are worth it though, right??
Well since you asked.. Yeah!

Think of all the other happy Iraqis when they realize that they're free. They'll have a parade!
I seriously doubt that Americasn as a whole give a sh!t about the Iraqi's. They might say they do but like Dubya they are just trying to justify the carnage. Frankly I don't feel the need to justify it to anybody but to those young Americans who will be putting their lives at risk. The way I see it is no Iraqi's are worth the life of one American Soildier (note I didn't say President) and if one American Soldier dies because we are worried about the Iraqi enemy civilians then who ever is responsible for it should be Court Marshalled, Impeached or fired. We either do it balls out or we don't do it at all.

It doesn't matter how many innocent people you kill Hayabusarider, It only matters that you weren't aiming specifically at them. Colateral damage is OK. I'm sure God will take then to heaven.

b) The bombing is to get rid of the regime that is causing the suffering of the civilians therefore taking away soldiers that set Iraqi's on fire.

I guess I can see how the bombing could be a necessary evil. But the fact of the matter is...sh!t like this happens all over the world...why we're focusing on Iraq in particular is mainly because we want their oil. Its just that our leaders are using the pretense of "weapons of mass destruction" to drum up support.

Or it could just be the fact that Iraq invaded Kuwait in 1990, we kicked them out, and they haven't lived up to the cease-fire or subsequent 18 UN Resolutions.

But, this is besides the point of the thread. The point is the atrocity committed against this woman. Some of the responses about the number of kids she has had and what not is pretty poor in quality and not humorous or tasteful at all.

I agree. War is hell. End of story.

Way to completely avoid the reality of warfare Moonbeam. Let's just throw lollipops and candy canes at Saddam's regime and hope they play nice, stop murdering people, stop defying the conditions of their original surrender, and surrender now like good boys and girls.

But only the reality of war as it applies to the Iraqis. The reality of war to the average American is one of videos of bombs hitting buildings. We don't see the death, we don't see the destruction.
The democratic peace principle does not apply now, now that the government has succesfully made war a nice thing.

QUIT asking why she has so many children...

How much education do you think they are allowed to have?

The FAMILY grows up to take care of each other....

They probably do not even allow contraceptives or abortions.

They got a bombed out bomb shelter we put one through the door once full of about four hundred civilians were we thought Saddam was and you can see the bodies flashed outlines flashed into the walls were the people were once standing. It was a perfect hit.

its too late to be against military action my friends. its time to realize it is going to happen. even if you disagree with it, its time to turn your attention and support the brave men and women who are putting their lifes on the line to secure freedoms for a foreign population.

Why do you choose to be so rude and negative towards people? Are you trying to join the ranks of Red Dawn?

FlashG, there are a lot of people that are supportive and proud of your son. May he be safe and home soon.

You have said in the past that every step will be taken to protect innocent and civilian life in Iraq. During the first Gulf War, the United States intentionally bombed water storage facilities and sewage treatment plants. This led to the deaths of an estimated half million civilian Iraqis from cholera, hepatitis, and typhoid. In what sense is that protecting civilian and innocent life?

Did I offend you. Oh I'm so sorry. I thought you were talking about shedding aligator tears because people were about to ge blown to peaces. I guess I lost my sense of porportion. I forgot how much more important biff (and your, if you agree with him) childish ego is than the deaths of all those people. If you don't agree than at least you now know why I object. I don't think people who pretend to weep for the dear are human. To let them pass by without comment would be a form of complicity. Sorry.

Sorry FlashG. I understand the personal concern you must have right now. That, however, sin't what I'm focused on. I don't want any of our troups to die encluding any of the people of Iraq.
