Crack For Team Anandtech!

Self done studies have show that computer processors last longer when they stay at a constent temputure, a good way to achive constent temp in your chips is to run them at 100%, and a good way to do that is to Crack! so head on over to the Distributed computing forum and find out what all the rage is about! and join the best Distributed Computing team On the face of the Planet, TEAM ANANDTECH!

Popular science had an article about some soon to come distributed computing programs that you will get paid for.

Won't make you a millionaire, but hey. Why not?

do you have the temp when the processor is at 100%? and has been running that way for a few minutes? that would be interesting

Russing RC5 isnt all that great for your cpu. My once stable Celeron 300a@464, stopped working about a month after running RC5. Running your CPU at 100% all the time cannot possibly be good for it at all.

Distributed computing is also a good way to find faulty proccesers.
They may appear stable but when pushed to top perfomance, fail.;)

either way, it was running strong enough to survive what I needed it for, and would have kept going till I needed a faster cpu. but now I gotta stay at 300 while I wait for a new cpu.

Crap. I finally gave up and joined the dark side. :( Used Russ easy dialup setup disk. I just hope that my cpu won't fry from this because my early revision P3B-F will not take Coppermine or Celermine, even with a bios update, which means that I'll need to upgrade my mobo too if my Celeron 500@500 croaks. It sure feels scary to not see the reassuring raindrop icon of Rain 1.0 in my system tray. :(

Damn you! Damn you all to hell! You dirty RC5 apes! ;)
