hey
for some wierd reason I get a significantly higher FPS, with the same video card (radeon LE 7500)... on my 1 GHZ AMD thunderbird (with ecs k7s5a mobo, 512 ddr ram, win2k), than i get with the my new 1.8 ghz P4 northwood (with asus p4t-e , 512mb pc800 ram, win2k). does anyone know whats wrong? only thing i could think of was that i installed bad drivers for the motherboard.

TYI.

Are you talking about a specific game or a benchmarking utility? Are you sure you have the same game settings? Maybe you turned on AA or anisotropic filtering and didn't realize it. I'd check to make sure the game settings are exactly what you think they are, then I'd check the card settings in the display properties and make sure everything's the same there too.

Also, make sure it is set up right in the bios. Set it to 4X AGP, and mess around with the AGP Aperature size.

yah, all the software drivers are the same, and so are the settings in win2k. i havent benchmarked, but the FPS is lower in counter-strike. havent messed with the bios yet either, what settings would be good?
