If you want to participate in Zuni's new offering, but do not have any idea what is in your system, Go to belarc.com and try thier program. It will download a small program that takes an audit of your system. You can then print it out ans save it.

I have used this program to audit corporate PC's before and it is safe to use.

Here is a link

What self-respecting ATer would not know what is in their system?

After reading some of the posts,I figured some members could use an easy tool to get the info. Then they will be self respecting ATer's,eh?

Thanks. I fixed the link.

Sandra does it too,to an extent. Try it out. It will tell you all the software you have and even your mac address on any nics installed. It's a handy tool.

This is useful, sometimes they makes us check inventories on our comps to make sure that no hardware was pilfered, so this could be nice to use at work

Hmph. It reports my Caviar drive as:
Generic IDE hard disk drive (15.37 GB)

But it figured out the HP burner and Matshita CDRom drive..

Oh well.. nifty little program/website.. Thanks for da link.

Pretty interesting program in how it shows you all the installed software, seems I might have some old junk on here I forgot about.

I tried it out....it was rather interesting finding all of the old and junk software that I have in my system. Perhaps it's time to clean "house" a bit :)

Hi Perry,

Your hard drive shows as generic because the BelDrive driver
hasn't loaded yet. Belarc doesn't force a reboot to load
that driver, but after the next time you reboot it should
be able to report your caviar drive. You can also go to

http://www.belarc.com/harddrives.html

to see more information about your hard drives (i.e. serial
number).

Thanks for your kind words about Belarc, and hope you enjoy
using the Advisor.

like in my case, my company paid for my dell, and well i just got the best package considering how much i was allowed to spend, and i have no idea what motherboard they used, it looks crappy, no isa slots, and front tower only has two external 5.25" bays, which makes my live drive now useless. bah.
