than get a gig of corsair value.

mostly everyone is gonna recommend this.
Get this PQI Turbo CAS 2.5 and don't look back.

wont i get more speed out of faster modules? like DDR500-600? i know the motherboard only supports DDR400 speeds but i guess that even faster modules will be faster
No. Your memory will only run as fast as your FSB will allow it to. If you don't OC the FSB, you won't need faster memory than PC3200.

BTW, CAS 2 is faster than CAS 3. Your best bang for the buck is the CAS 2.5 PQI.

ok, i just assumed that modules that operates at a faster fsb than the fsb was faster - maybe not much but just a bit

yeah i know cas2 is faster than cas3, so why settle with cas 2.5? 😛 i think ill spend about $350 so there is plenty to give from regarding those 2x512mb

Your AMD combo doesn't need faster than 2.5... If you were running an Intel combo, I'd say yes, get CAS 2.

LoL...
If I buy "V" speed rated tires (up to 149MPH), will they make my car run any faster?

im not saying more than ddr400 speeds will be 50% increase in speed but maybe a few percent, the price difference is almost nothing so i dont see why i shouldnt

You will get absolutely no extra speed from the faster "rated" memory.
Spend the money if it makes you feel better about your setup...
But it still won't make any difference.

It's not like installing a higher HP engine in your car. It's like replacing the tires.
The tires won't make the car go any faster than the engine will push it. 😀
