Don't know anything about bluetooth headsets

My new phone has Bluetooth (I always get plain, low feature phones) and I'd like a simple Bluetooth headset for the occasional long conversation at home. I'm seeing all these really low priced headsets on eBay but I'm afraid there's a big knock off market out there. What's a good, cheap headset to look for?

define cheap? I wouldn't ever buy an off brand, hell I've had bad luck with the Motorola BT headsets I've bought. Tell us you budget and we can suggest something decent.

I have this Samsung model.
Samsung WEP200
It's tiny, you'll hardly notice it's there. The drawback is the talk and standby time is cut in half because it's so small, and it needs the included adaptor to charge.
I wore this in the office the whole day when I looked over a groupwise to Exchange migration, and it was great. It doesn't have the "hey look at me" that some might get out of observing someone with a headset on.

Jabra has several budget friendly models that aren't that bad. One even has a discreet mode without a blinking LED.

If you have a Costco near you might wanna check them out. They carry a top end Moto one for like 45 bucks.
