I don't. People call me when they want to talk, so I don't need texting.

But going back to the OP, why would you care if other people don't have a texting plan?

I blocked it, I still have old flip phone, Nokia, charge it once a week, small n light enough to hide in my pocket. I pay $50 a month for 2 lines and 600 shared mins, 11 year old plan!

I do not have any message plan and it costs 25 cents per message, every now and then people would send me a few and I didn't mind paying 2 - 3 dollars extra every month as compared to paying $10 to get a message plan, but then I started getting spams and two of my acquaintance started sending me messages a LOT, even after requesting them not to do it and their messages were really unimportant.

So here I am today, all incoming and outgoing messages BLOCKED.

I have it, but it pisses me off when people try to have an entire conversation with me texting. Just fucking call me if you had something to say that required more than 3 words.

Unlimited text is awesome. For things that don't require a phone call it is great. If you just want to let someone know that you are out of milk and they are in town it is convenient to send a text rather then having to call them.

That way if they are driving they don't feel pressured to answer the phone and endanger peoples safety. It is easy to just pull in a parking lot and read the message.

If a major carrier offered a plan with like 200 mins with unlimited text and a large data plan then that would be perfect for me.

I have it but rarely use it. I tell everyone to call me because chances are if you text me I will completely miss it. One of my close friends doesn't seem to understand this no matter what. He continues to text me and then a couple of weeks later when I call him, he is like why didn't you come hangout with us I text'd you..........

Most people have phones capable of sending and receiving text messages, but some people just choose not to pay extra for a texting plan and tell people to please not text them since it costs them money every time.

My phone has the capability to text but I choose not to pay extra for a service that seems akin to me to using my smartphone like a device invented in in the 1830's.

Don't have texting? Hell, I don't have cell phones anymore.

We threw them away about 3 years ago...

If it's someone I don't want to talk to then they get that line. I also "don't have email" and I "never check my facebook."

They usually get the hint.

My company has one office cell phone for us to share, so most of the time we're using our own phones. Unlimited texting is worth it since it doesn't eat up my personal minutes for the company. Lord knows the SOBs would never compensate us for it.

I'm ok with texting, but the people I know don't abuse it. They use it like email, which is the correct use. I pay 5¢ a message for text, or nothing if I have access to my GoogleVoice account.
