im running xp pro, intel p4 2.4C, leadtek 6600GT 128MB @ 570/1.06 from 500/450 using the 93.71 drivers from nvidia. i only have the manual overclocking option, along with no overclocking. i used to use the auto-overclock but now it disappeared. has it been gone with the newer forceware releases?

TIA!

Auto overclocking usually causes your card to run at an unstable speed. Don't miss it, because it's crap.

oh haha alright. ive usually kept it on manual overclock. i thought auto-overclock would clock it up during 3D apps and clock it back down to reduce temps during 2D.

Manual overclocking FTW.

Auto overclocking function simply seeks out and sets the clock speed for you, finding speeds that don't cause it to (immediately) crash. It only does it once: there's no dynamic tuning or switching during 3D apps.

Nvdida has removed or disabled the registry that used to be used for that in newer drivers.
Coolbits still works manually but doesn't retain the clock rate upon restarting the computer.
I use ATItool to overclock the card and recommend it too.
