Why all the EA hate? The companies sold themselves to EA. Hate them, EA does what it does because its easy.

I'm surprised they made it past AT&T.

EA does suck. Their business model is to buy up well respected game franchises, reduce the gameplay to meet the lowest common denominator, market the shit out of it, nickle and dime you after you've bought it, provide poor customer service, and profit. But you can't blame them for all the people being willing to pay for that.

BOA is contemptible on a whole different level. Finding every way they can to charge their customers fees to maintain high profits. Getting the Fed to agree that they could back up investments with customer deposits when the Greek crisis looked like it may blow up and they had many tens of billions potentially at risk (though they weren't alone in doing that). And so on. I don't really think EA can come close to the amount of stink that comes from BOA.

EA can't be worse than ubisoft

They aren't. Ubisoft doesn't even try to hide the crap they do, or even try to weasel their way out of it. Got a problem with them? "Suck it up buttercup." Hop on over to PC Gaming and get their opinion. It's not pretty.

But... Ubisoft is a French company.

i just don't understand the hate for EA about the "nickle and diming" aspect of it. if you don't want DLC simply don't purchase it.

i can understand people hating on em for the madden updates, but then again, the people who bitch about that usually haven't really played madden in years and have no clue what exactly changes in them. but it's the cool thing to hate on em since it's just a "roster update" as they like to say.

yet madden is BY FAR the #1 selling sports game.

EA is not the greatest company in the world. But compared to BOA.... not even a competition.

Play BF3, lend to friend. Friend can't try it online for the MP experience.
Friend gives back to you. Realize he won't be joining you online, because he won't buy it.
Don't blame friend.

/Tonto out.

yea i have no issues at all with the online pass thing. i buy all my games brand new for the most part, unless it's some single player game i missed, so it has no effect on me. and I believe EA is not the only one doing this anymore.

there was a demo of bf3 too, he could have tried that out. or why can't he just try it at your house?

I think what gamers get irked by is how a lot of the day 1 DLC add ons don't pack in additional content all, but parts that in the previous generation of consoles would have been included in the baseline $50 package. So you can opt not to pay for the day one DLC. But you're basically making do with less content that you would not have had to part with before delivery systems like Xbox Live and Playstation network make this practice viable.

Basically, gamers don't like that EA has gone from providing all the content made under the games production budget for $50 to suddenly having to pay $60 + $10 + dealing with disruptive in game advertising. For many of us, if pre order bonuses does not drive home the feeling that we're buying our games piecemeal, than seeing day 1 DLC shenanigans play out definitely will. EA pioneeried most of these practices and are among the most over the top in their use. That to me is why they have become more unpopular.

I don't see how in the grand scheme of things anyone could vote for EA over Bank of America. Come on. :p

Agreed. EA no longer gives you the full game you pay for, but that pales in comparison to losing your own house. The business mentality is similar, though the difference between providing entertainment and providing a loan to buy a place to sleep are on opposite ends of priorities.

EA? Really? How about companies that do real harm like the ones who do fracking and companies that privatize water resources? Those ruin lives and the environment. EA, proves how petty and spoiled gamers are.

Gee, what a surprise, companies with the highest profit margins and biggest consumer base's are at the top of the sh t list. This article is proof positive that if you want a perfect consumer rating, your only option is not to exist.

This thread is proof positive that if you want to be popular among gamers, you have to give your stuff away for free or at the very least lose a lot of money on each product sold...and then they will still complain that those same products don't give them a reach around as well.

Really? Because I LOVE Valve and I LOVE Blizzard and I don't recall them giving me anything except the opportunity to buy their INSANELY SUPERIOR products.

I must agree. I love everything these guys make and I don't feel screwed by them at all. Funny but they are both companies that release games when they feel like it.

They also only put out 1 or 2 products per year. Comparing them to EA or Ubi or Activision (in Blizzard's case, the rest of Activision) is silly because they operate on completely different scales.

With Valve alone, I can remember off the top of my head that a lot of people were angry about Left 4 Dead 2 and there are still plenty of people (not me) that still don't like Steam for some reason.
